Which do you think would be a better camera? My application would be traveling abroad in Western Europe.

I wanted an s7000, and considered it, but I kept reading about purple fringingin reviews. Hope it helps :-)

Think you mixed something up. The S7000 doen't have any purple fringe issues. The Minolta however is know for it.

A few of the reviews I have read and some of the comments from people who have bought the camera say it has some, and that it also has loads of noise. Thats what put me off getting it, I dont know if they are right?
