1. Firmware with RAW was successfully installed (instruction included). Camera works w/o any trouble. The only chamge visible is mode "Eco + RAW" instead of "Econ." Every shot makes pare of files - small "Eco" Jpg and big (approx. 5.9 MB) RAW with jpg extension.
2.Files were moved to comp and converted byRAW2NEF 0.13.1 3. NEF-file is easy readeble byIrfanView 3.91 (FULL), XnView 1.70.3 (FULL), EasyRAW Studio 0.13 and NikonCapture 4 (looks like best, but it's "trial"). 4. NB! "Continuous" shooting mode is making very strange "RAW-files" -Noisyand Useless (other testers report the same). That's possible because of two reasons (IMHO) a) "Continuous" RAW-file has another structure than "Single".RAW2NEF convertorworks wrong in this case.b) "RAW-firmware" has a bug. |

Adobe Photoshop 7.0 eats Z2 NEF-files very good.
Nice correction of white balance and exposure. |

"Eco + RAW" doesn't work whith "continuous", "progressive" and "bracketing" shooting modes.
Also, digital zoom producebad RAW-files in this mode. But digital zoom is just a part of center zone of frame. It's a minor problem.  |

I usethis firmware, but the .NEF file has 160*120*24b tiff !!!
It is OK or not?Is it not very small? Peter |

First I install the firmware from http://tester13.nm.ru/nikon/z2.zip
It was correct, no problem. It show me: ECO + RAW on my camera. I make one foto and copy to disk two files: For example: PICT0001.jpg 433MB and PICT0002.jpg 5930MB (it is withRAW, isnt it?). If I can see the file PICT0002.jpg I must: RAW2NEFW -Z2 PICT0002.JPG And I have now PICT0002.NEF . And this file has 160*120*24b tiff !!!!! Peter |
