The PCT-100 hot shoe adaptor accepts standard flash unit cable connection.

However, it is priced at about $90 or 75 UKPDS. I might as well throw away my perfectly servicable flash unit and buy the Minolta overpriced flash unit (2500, 3600 or 5600) for the price of a good backup camera.

Is there any alternative hot shoe adaptor or clone which might fit?

The objective is to achieve an off-camera-centre flash setup. Even if I purchase the modest 2500 unit at about $99, I will still need another $100 worth of stuff to connect it off-camera.

Keep an eye on ebay for a pct-100. Every now and then someone sells their used adapters - I got mine there for a fraction of the normal price.
