Just found this on another forum. It appears that a large number of the Sony CCDs used in some of our cameras have a potential fault. It sounds as if Sony is covering the costs of repair, as K-M is offering to repair for free.

Well, I figured that might come. I'm waiting to see if Pentax and Olympus are going to do the same thing, too (along with any other manufacturers using Sony sensors).

Sony made an announcement for a bunch of their models. Canon did the same thing for a lot of their models using Sony sensors.

So, the other manufacturers using their sensors are going to have the same problems with some of them (Olympus, Nikon, Pentax, KM, etc.).

There are a LOT of cameras out there that could be impacted eventually.
