after returning from St. Thomas using A1 w/no problems, I noticed a color cast on lcd next time i used camera. Read about sony recall on ccd and putting 2&2 together, it seemed the problem w/A1 was just that, since ccd is sony made. Sent to Konica for repair and told its not the problem and it would cost over $200 to fix. According to sony this problem can be caused by cameras w/sony ccd being used in hot and humid climates! We were in US Virgin Is. in Aug.Just seems like too much of a conincidence. Anyone out there have similar experience w/ Minolta?

I do, I had the same problem in an island (Holbox) in Mexico...

But I bought this camera in Switzerland and I now live in Mexico... No Mexico repair shop in the konica / Minolta recall program... Man...

Too bad, I just loved this camera.

My DiMage Xt also had the bad CCD problem. I sent it to Konica-Minolta (before the Sony takeover) in New Jersey and they fixed it free of charge, even though it was out of warranty.

I am in Missouri, have the same problem. I found an article about defective chip in Minolta Dimage A1: http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news0...a_defects.html
