Led by a countryroad to the wildly beautiful mountains on some desolate highlands! Would look even better compositionwise if the side of the road almost (if not literally)adjacented the right bottom corner of the frame, IMO.

Just kidding. It was taken in southern Montana, at a very neat "island range". These mountains rise 7,000 feet over the prarie, and are completely surrounded by it. They connect to no other ranges. It is home to black bear, elk, cougar, mountain goats and it is the last stronghold for the very wild and rare wolverine. It's a really special place.

Thx for the feedback. Yeah I wasn't trying to take a good picture in all honesty. It's just a snapshot as I was heading into the mountains to camp. I agree it would look better with the road farther to the right. I just wanted to capture that little alpine valley on the right side for the purpose of photo memories.
