This was my first attempt at a long telephoto sunrise. It was an amazing morning because, not only was the sky and sun spectacular, there were about half a million ducks and geese stirring in the morning glow of the Sacramento Valley. Fortunately, we are right smack in the middle of the Pacific Flyway. The sound alone was unbelievable. I hope you can get a small sense of what is was like.

Steve, these pics are superb as sun rise/setpics. i know they would look better with a pleforia of geese in focus but what would the sunrise/set suffer if they where? better to have none at all than a few that cannot really alter a pictures prospective!

the Z ishsylecloudinclusion within the sky is really interesting almost spooky!! LOl. Graham

Thank you Graham,
I thought the Z cloud added some interest to the shot as well. You make a good point about the geese.
Thanks again for you comments,
Steve

I love good sunrises and sunsets. And these qualify. Great work.
