Awesome, I've only seen the Aurora's once live and I was lucky to have my Konica point and shoot and my newly purchased tripod.

I will second and third everything everyone has said, it is beyond words how good these are. I have seen the N. lights a few times, but nothing like this! Send that first one to Steve's POTD and win another one!

Wow Gisli, those are simply incredible, actually they make your picture-of-the-day look almost trivial by comparison: and that's really saying something!

In picture #3, what is it that lights up the snow so much? Is it ambient light from something nearby?

This is light from the town and harbour behind me and concrete mixing plant with large yellow lights on the left.
