Don that's really amazing: and the size of the trees gives a good idea just how large those falls must be too.

Thanks Donna, Ollie and John. It is warming up here a little. Been above freezing for a couple of days now, and it's raining..

Ollie, I metered for the ice so as to get the detail. Then when I processed the shot, I had to lighten the dark areas to bring out the tree detail so that the scale of the falls would be noticeable. This shot had a high dynamic range, and it was a tough one to decide which way to go with it. Contrasty with less detail, or a little flat to bring it out. If I was better at photoshop, I could probably get a punchier result.......cheers..........Don.

Hope you don't mind Don, I had a play in Photoshop - masked out the waterfall and relevelled the rest of the photo.

Looks great Ollie. I've never used layers before. Just levels and other basics. Looks like I'd better do some self tutoring....thanks.....Don
