Borrowed the new Nikon D40 from work and headed out to the woods during lunch.

I have to get one of these cameras soon!

C and C welcome.

Thanks.

Regarding the exposure and saturation, especially, very well I think! I wonder how you compare the colours in the image with the actual ones..

Thanks for the comments!

I didn't alter the colors in the shot - maybe a slight boost in contrast and sharpness. The sky was perfectly blue that day, and the frozen stream was that odd tan color.

Oh, what I actually wanted to learn was,the degree camera represented the colours accurately. As you may also know,D40 is sometimes reported to have an unreliable colour department. Well, from your reply, Igather that it did its part of the job well. Anyway, D40 is one of the cameras I seriously considerthese days.

Oh, I'm sorry. I misunderstood you.

We just got this camera at work last week, so I had to "test it out"! After about 200 pictures of anything from a soda can to this stream, I'm convinced I NEED ONE!

I was very surprised at the color of the sky in this picture. Even without a polarizing filter, it's very blue and vibrant.

I'm happy.

I'll be sure to post some more pics from the D 40 today.

Thanks.
