Hi folks. You guys were very helpful in my choice of dSLR ans so I thought I'd let you see what I've managed after a week with my new Nikon D80. These aren't perfect but they're a leap beyond what I was producing with my compact. Now I need to learn how to edit images properly, lol.

Thanks folks.

Hi Zorrofox, these shots are brilliant. There is such a high level of detail and the colours are so realistic. I have also been thinking of upgrading to the D80 and these pics have once again confirmed that it's a great DSLR. BTW great composition too.

You can upgrade equipment, but there's no way to upgrade your eye, but to practice. These are great shots, well composed, and well taken.

It's liberating to get that DSLR, isn't it? Suddenly, everything is better.

Thanks guys. Yeah, it is liberating. My compact (Fujifilm F-11) is a good one but I spent more time with editors trying to get the image it captured to look like it looked to my eyes, if you know what I mean. Now I have more time to get out and take photos. I'd recommend buying a dSLR to anyone.
