Inspiringly beautiful image, MattBesides, congrats forthis natural looking HDR!

I felt thenecessity of a little highlight adjustmentso as tomake the clouds in distance visable as below. Hope you don't mind, my friend : )

This is one really great picture.

That solitary tree is beautifully symmetrical. People run away (from me anyhow) but you can always trust a tree - mostly It will still be standing on it´s one leg when you get back (smile)

Or perhaps they meet when no human sees them. Ents...

Bishop Berkeley was of course terribly wrong
(I can eleborate on that if you want)

"I thought you knew where all the elefants lie down and die" (Leonard Cohen) - a child trusting its father

What shall we say to our children when they ask what happens to the old trees when they die

Too many Guinness...

Yes high dynamic range. Wonderful picture

Torgny

That is a very good scenic photo of the tree, and you really can do the HDR exposures well. To my eye, the yellow-green in the sky from tone mapping seems unnatural, but there is no fault venturing into artistic interpretation versus a tree photo. I hope you post more of your HDR work.

Thanks for the feedback much appreciated!

Bahadir: I like your edit, the clouds at the back are much more visible now. Also, I don't know what's in the water in Izmir but it must be something special, every time i look at your avatar you seem to be gettingyounger!

Torgny: You can never have to much Guinness!

JDar: I know what you mean about the sky, it was pretty difficult to map as the sun was setting just to the right of the shot resulting in the slightly yellow cast. I'm really hooked on HDR at thre mo so i'm sure there will be more to come!

This is a great shot Matt. I have a similar shot on my "to shoot list" ....I just hope I can find as wonderful a tree as you've shared with us here.

Cheers Goomer, good luck tree hunting. As Torgny pointed out, they only have one leg so i'm sure you'll have no problems catching one!

good Luck!
