Nice shot. I especially like the clouds - they have a puffy, 3D appearance in the photo.

It's a beautiful field but those clouds are perfect.

I like the photo and colours, it does leave me a little 'looking for something' not sure what, I very much liketo see grasses, and green tree line and yes blue sky with nice summer clouds drifting on the breeze, the picture seems to have 3 parts?? something is needed for me??

I know what you mean. Usually I hide behind the back of Jean-Paul Sartre in "L´être et le néant" (smile)

Onthology aside. A three pipe problem (S.H.)

Over to estethics. A two pipe problem

This is a very interesting question. How come that a certain position of an object within a given framework "feels" right?

And how come that you can experience fullness and on the other hand the lack of fullness

Personally I think there is a "picture reading generative grammar" common to all individuals. But there sure are individual differences

In practice: I can wait for a horse to enter the frame. Or I can clone in a horse. Or lure one in with some pieces of sugar.

Or I can leave to the viewer to be a co-creator and put in an object of his choice, in a position also of his choice. A no pipe problem

Or whatever... Just fun all of it

Yes, yes, yes, but have a look at 'Orsta' just posted by sportive, a very nice picture, I think it suffers from a similar 'nothingness' if you will, I have put in my crop as how i would like to see it. But your picture is different, the expanse of water adds nothing to his picture for me, (although one could say it offers emptiness and stillness) but i like your grass and the fence and tree line. I asked JDar how does the eye travels over a picture and he suggested it could be the same as we read a book, left to right (not all read this way) for to know this will help build a pleasing composition. I am a fan of Girsky's photos and have expanded my picture types since viewing his work and I have had a go at modern art myself (try, so i dont think i'm square). All the great ages of art (painting) were mostly frowned upon particularly around 1900 ish. Modern art etc.
