Not sure how this will come out - it looks totally different at each tilt of my laptop screen. It was a beautiful sunset, and I suppose I should have cloned out the bird as it looks like a black dot, but after zooming in on him, I just had to leave him there!

Hey!

This is a great sunset! My only comments are that ti me it look a tad flat and could do with a slight contrast boost and maybe a very little saturation. Easilly sorted using levels or curves. I would also possible clone out the branch in the top right corner as i it could be a little distracting?

Cheers, Matt

Thanks for your comments Matt. If you feel like it, have a go at adjusting contrast! I did some, and as I said, when I tilt my screen to a different angle, it looks more like it prints - kind of darker and mysterious.

I am just now learning to use my D200 in the totally manual mode - this photo was taken in shutter priority mode but I didn't write down the settings.

Eventually I'll master this - may take me the rest of my life, but what fun!!

Btw, I agree with Matton a little PP which could bring out even more from this already lovable image.

Thank you musket, bahadir and hercules, for your comments. I've tried to bring up the contrast a little - I got some noise in the clouds I didn't like, so smoothed them out and then had to unsharp mask... We'll see how we like it, ne pas? (Pardon my bad French spelling....)
