Hello All,

A few weekends ago my wife and I went for a walk on (as we often do)... this time along the river Torrens, the river which runs through the centre of Adelaide.

Here are some landscape photos taken from that day. The day was clear, peaceful, warm and very pleasant. We've found the river is a great place to enjoy walks along, and see people enjoying themselves: feeding birds, on the river in canoes, kayaks or "water-bicycles". We also enjoy just walking amongst the trees, and seeing the green grass.

Hope you enjoy these photos. They aren't fantastic photos... sorry, but just thought it might still be worth to share some springtime sun snapshots with those of you who are now in autumn (fall) there in the Northern hemisphere!

Any feedback or comments, gladly received!

All photos taken with a 28-135mm Canon lens on my Canon 350D, with polariser.

Paul

Oh and I forgot to say the banks of the river Torrens are very popular places for people to jog along - and thanks to Adelaide's Mediterranean climate, that's possible any month of the year! (though that does mean in summer it's "a hot workout"!)

Thanks all for looking!

Greatidea, my friend! Actually, I cansee some other merits of a polorizer thaneliminating reflections in your tasteful captures... How well saturated the colours stand!! Works also as a ND filter...for I see very evenly exposed images!Btw, I very much liked thelovely decorative boats

Thanks Hercules for your kind comments!

Glad you like the photos...!

Yes, it's a weird thing one part of the world going into winter, as another comes out of it! Many times I travelled between north and south hemispheres around Christmas time, and so had the "worst" of it... I mean often severish winters (in Romania) compared with hot summer weather in Australia!

Well, you must certainly let me know, good friend - if you ever do come to visit Adelaide to see your relatives here.. it would be good to meet and share some time and photo opportunities together as well as chill out and talk over a nice cool drink (if it's summer) or a warm hot chocolate (if it's winter)!

But yes, at this stage there is no way to get here without a 20 hour flight! :?

Hello Bahadir....

Glad you enjoyed my sentiment of sharing some seasonal shots!

Indeed the polariser does work well in cases like this, especially as the sun was often at a suitable degree angle to the shots I wanted... making the polariser most effective, and as you keenly picked up on, often acts similar to a ND filter, with evenly exposed!

Often little special "colourful" elements (like the boats) do add some "spice" to a landscape photo...!

Thanks for looking and your appreciative comments.

Paul
