Hi guys,

I took this shot very early yesterday morning, it's a view across to Ross-On-Wye, Herefordshire. I'd like some feedback before I commit it to my Blog.

Many thanks, Matt.

Awesome shot Mat! Love that purpley look of an early morning sky in cold weather. This is a wall hanger if you ask me...cheers...Don

I remember that view well from 30 years of travel along the M50 to & from my folks in S.Wales, but never as beautifully as that!

Oh, frozen dawn or melting dawn thanks to the hot hot reddishtone dominating across the frame : ) And very tasteful composition again!I know it's difficult to sacrifice it yet, it may or may not!! require just a little bit cropping from the top IMO, let's say 1/11 or so, for the sake of emphasizing the striking foreground and doing a bit more justice to the cloudscaught fireGreat job, my friend!

A really superb photo, I can only dream of getting one like it some day.

Just one thing I notice (don't know if it was intended or not so if it was then no worries) Seems some of the plants in the foreground are blurred slightly, only real way to eliminate this would be to use a tripod with a smaller fstop I think, unless they were moving.

Fantasticly Stunning colours.

Hi Matt,

Lovely photo indeed. Colours are fantastic... beautiful reflection.

Is that frost (or light snow?) on the grass/ ground in the (left) foreground?

Thanks for sharing the scene. You asked for feedback. At first I thought a change I would do myself, would be to crop just a bit off the top of the photo... as I believe there was just slightly too much sky (but recognising that the change in shades/ colours IS special to keep)!

But then I realised it was mainly because the photo is too large to view at once on my screen unless on Steve's forums. So when I viewed it to "fit screen"... then it looks fine, with the purple at the top changing to the orange near the horizon, and of course in the reflection.

IMHO it's great that you have the church tower in the photo (and reflected). This adds a special feature to an already great photo.

Regards

Paul
