Just for a change I wandered away from my usual riverbank location... to a different river, and some distinctly spooky looking trees.

I'm feeling rather pleased with this one, so I hope you like it ! :-)

John.

Absolutely heart-meltingly beautiful!

I think the trees are just leaning over inquisitively to peer at the photographer and say "take my picture" as youthful locals are wont to say when they see a camera. "40 isn't old if you're a tree!"

As usual, stunning John. If ever anyone found a niche in photography, your river shots are it.

Nothing fancy at all: a4 old and now rather ailing Kodak DX640 4MPixel point and shoot: http://www.steves-digicams.com/2003_reviews/dx6490.html

That image was actually 7 shots stitched up with autostitch (using manual parameter settings), which gave me more pixels (12M in the final image) than I would have got otherwise, but also a greater depth of field and wider angle of view than I could have achieved otherwise. I also used a 4x neutral density filter plus polariser, and a 4s exposure.

Regards, John.

Thank you Bahadir, and everyone else for your kind comments. Looks like I need to go off and capture something other than woodland streams before I get pigeonholed any more

Regards, John.
