I like shooting old things (no oldjokes now, lol) and with the snow all around thought it would make a good picture.

You've bagged a great location there Calicajun!

When i look at the shot I lose the tower against the trees in the background which for me is a shame as think the tower should be the main point of focus. Also i find the cable a little distracting, although it's hard to spot, when i do see it my eye follows it away from the tower.

What would be really interesting is a shot of the tower closer up, framing it against a clearer background or even looking up at the tower framing it against the sky.

Good work on the exposure, it looks perfect, no easy feat especially with the bright snow on the ground!

Cheers Matt

Didn't care much for the cable in the shot either but I'm good enough to remove something like that without it looking worst. Like your suggestion of shooting looking up at the tower (didn't think of that angle), will have to go back and see if I can find away around (over or under) the barb wire fence.

Thanks for the comments, I really do enjoy the help,

Craig

It sure is and very well exposed. We share the interest in older, analogue constructions, vastly more interesting than the binary

Lo! I think I, too, remember that joke from the forums:lol:
Anyway, I really liked the snowy setting with the tower you captured and read Matt's suggestions with interest

This place surely deserves a re-visit at whichI'd be delighted to accompany you passing beyond the barb wiresasthe watcher : )

I'd suggest slightly blurring the edges of the tower for welding it to the background and allowingsome more foreground, which might take you another 7 mins' work : )
