A very scenic and colorful scene with nice ice formations at this time of the year.

Taken with a Canon EOS 1D-Mk2 + Canon EF 17-40mm F4.0 L lens.

Very nice. I havent seen many shots of falls in winter other than Niagara Falls. Even more beautiful with the snow and ice.

Hello Cyber Surfer,

Good to see a photo from you again.

It is indeed a very spectacular scene, capturing the waterfall with the added interest of snow and ice. Colours at the falls are very special (we don't get that here in Australia!)

Like Bynx, I haven't seen many winterl waterfall shots, so thanks for sharing.

The cloud at the top left balances the white snow at the bottom left of the photo.

Regards,

Paul

Indeed a great capture. Many blue colours, sky and waters

I sure wish we had some nice, clear winter days around here more often. It's usually pretty dull and overcast this time of year, so it's a real pleasure to see shots like this. Well done.

Thanks for all your comments! As suggested, I have cropped out the top left cloud formation from the picture, and the results are much better.

Hi JeanRoy,

Actually my comments about the cloud in the top left hand corner were complimentary! I wrote: they balance (that being a positive in my mind!) After the actual falls themselves, and then the tall pines - my eyes were (next) drawn to the two "brightest whitest" areas (i.e. being top left and bottom right) - and so it felt "balanced".

Having said (and written that) I also like the editted photo, with the cloud cropped out. Both are good versions of the same scene!

Well done.

Paul

You lined that one up very nicely. Haven't seen you around here much so it is a pleasure to see another great posting! What is your website again?
