Hello Goadyone,

Thanks for posting this photo... to keep us remembering and wishing the best for the residents of Mackay up there in Qld. I've seen lots of shots on the news and now there are some other parts of QLD (nearer to Townsville, etc) affected also. There has certainly been some wet weather on the eastern side and east coast of Australia in recent weeks! There were floods ealier in Mackay, and then Emerald and Charleville - and then again in Mackay!

Wishing you (and the community up there) the best!

Here in Adelaide we would LOVE to have some of your rain. We're still in a drought, and many South Australian rural farmers are really suffering! Today and over the next few days, we have temperatures around 40, so it's hot again.

About the actual photo - it's so powerful with the guy standing there, umbrella in hand, rain obviously obscuring the hills in the background.... and those sandbags and the blocked road ahead of the roaring flooded river! Great composition. Well done! (powerful capture of a sad sight!)

Best wishes,

Paul

Thanks for the comments people.

I understand your comments on the rain Paul; we moved here 12 months ago from Melbourne, the grey landscape and bushfires. If I could send it down I would.
