here are a few nibbles of the main course... i spent the afternoon in Bryce Canyon park, mainly doing "recon" for tomorrow, but took a ton of photos even though it was cloudy (and this is my first stop! boy, am i gonna have a lot of photos to sort and process when i get home!!). s'posed to be mostly sunny tomorrow, so i'm heading up there first thing in the morning to get the early light, and will probably hang out there most of the day. Wednesday, i'll probably explore some of the trails and get some more close-in shots... anyway, here is a sample of what i got today... 40D, Tamron SP17-35, various settings...

Cool shots!

Bryce is one of those infuriating places where your jaw just sort of drops open of its own accord when you first get to one the scenic out-looks and you know that you have to spend at least a week and 100 Gigs of hard drive space to do it justice but you know that you only have 1 1/2 days!

You must definitely get down into the hoodoos for some really wild shots!

I wish I were there right now....

Have fun! (Oh, and get a bicycle helmet! The chin strap will keep your mouth closed and reduce the need for hydration!)

WoW! A wonderful architecture by Mother NatureVarious settings actually show off, my fave being #3 though! I remember Drewaz in his posts from Sedona, AZ (the neighbouring state: ) mentioning about the vividness of the reds straight from the camera!
