The Victoria Harbour of Hong Kong constantly undergoes reclamation to claim land for expressways to alleviate the traffic congestionin Central, Hong Kong. Here are a few shot to show the landscape of the waterfront in Central.

1. The water front being reclaimed

The locations of the crank and the bulldozer were respectively once a ferry pier. Now it has been torn down andreclaimed.

3 A strip of the water in the harbour front was not yet reclaimed.

PS The yellow building at the centrewith a narrow bottle neck at the bottom is the Central Barracks Building. Before the hand-over of HK's souveignty to China, the building was called the Tamar Headquarters where thebritish troops in Hong Kong worked in.

4 This is the ferry pieron Kowloon Peninsular, the opposite sideof the harbour. You may nowhave the slightest idea about how the origianl harbour looks like viewing this picture. The design and coloration were the same. These two ferry piers are called theCentral Star Ferry Pier and theTsim Sha Tsim Star Ferry Pier. This shot was taken at another time using a Nikon C8400.

A closer look at the China Merchants Tower. The one further back that is the same in outlook is the Shun Tak Centre. It is the place where we can take the jetfoils or the helicopterto Macau.
