My self-assigned project for the previous weekend was to capture fall colors. The problem in this area of Iowa is the native trees are not particularly attractive in the fall. However the cities have been planted with oaks, maples, andother varietiesfor over a hundred years so there are beautiful colors mixed in with unphotogenic telephone poles and wires, street signs and structures. To show colors then I had to incorporate the other elements in the most coherent manner I could. These are the results.

Great series. Especially appreciate the first two images with the fall colours and the contrasting geometry of the rounded building

Ah, that's why I often think whoeverworks in an executiveposition in municipalityshouldbe relatedwith photography somehow : )

So pleased to see selections from your self assignment! I especialy liked thelayers of vegetation with varying coloursbrought together in your capture#5(though it requires a little levels adjustment, imo)

Torgny and Bahadir: Appreciate your comments, Thanks. Bahadir, I'm inclined to agree with you comments on city/utility planners. Of course I'd like automobile designers to be required to disassemble and reassemble their designs as well, preferrably in Jan. in the northern midwest:-)
