Thank you, Alan. The old word "hross" is an abstract noun, without a plural. Probably that reflects the enormous importance of horses in these times

Got the information from one of my sons, who has come back from Iceland to study philosophy. In Icelandic the word is still used. They are very purist up there

"Hross" - what a word. Short, rugged, descriptive
