I saw some moon shots lately with very expensive equipment.

It was fun not to use my full frame canon for this one:

ingredients:
400mm sigma, 1.5 kenko, 22mm eyepiece, sanyo xacti e6 point and shoot. -> cheapos ;-)
27x maginification + 3x Zoom -> 2800mm focal length (equiv.)

Wow, very nice! How did you transition from eyepiece to camera?

I have a 8" newtonian and will alsotry with my P&S.

The transition was made with a commercial "n-adapter" (fleabay) - 52mm, a stepdown ring 52-55 was used as spacer. This is the part where my dSLR can be attached to.

The part between the kenko and the eypiece is a little bit more exoctic!
(canon cap, sewage line cap and hot glue).

Fred (fmoore) once said: no wonder that you get such a resolution, you are half way to the moon, man!

You can even make "macros" with this equipment!

a real telescope should be better - but not with macros!
The flowers were taken from a distance of 6m.
