This is my first photo post.... is a P&S result this past December while on vacation.

And a full-size link if anyone wants to C&C

Turned around and was presented with this:

And again, full sized:

There has been no processing done (mostly because I haven't a clue how to use the software.)

I'm here to learn... :-) So C&C welcome!

Welcome to the forums Brian!

Ah, it all starts with the appreciation of beauty...and I should say I quite liked the view in picture #1!

I strongly recommend you to get any version ofphotoshop which is the photographer's dark room today, even the elements which often come with the computer is quite welcome. Because the sensors in our digital cameras are weak compared to our eyes in terms of dynamic range, you'll find it necessary to tweak your outputs even though you exposed correctly. I simply divided the scene at the horizon and used the highlight/shadow tool in each half. The horizon was a bit tilted, so I also corrected it. Hope you don't mind. Btw, I think youalready know about the rule of the thirds which applies wellto mostcompositions.

Welcome Brian to the Forums. You will find the people here very helpfull.

Brilliant first shots! As, bahadir suggests, an appreciation. But bahadir, not just an appreciation, an eye for it as well.

Some tweeking is always necessary. yes, P/S is a good send.

Bahadir, nice work.

Certainly not 'an appreciation'; but 'the appreciation of beauty'as I said, signalling to aesthetics, whichthe individalhasor not...and once one goes for it, the required technique will follow inevitablyRemember the saying by Picasso abouttheinvention of cubism? ...and remember the first stepof becoming a philosopher ?:-)Thank you, btw.Hope Brian likes it as well!

Great image of the sunrise. I really wish I can be there right now. I also like the flowers that leads you to the sea.
