Default There was this hole in the sky....

Its now 3 weeks ago, when I walked down the waterside to get some training-shots for my HDR-obsession (I just have to explore all the possibilities!). The light-situation wasn't ideal since it was overcast with a heavy cloud-cover, and all I could see was gray-gray-gray, up there.

As I was about to shoot, there was this sudden hole in the cloud-cover and the sun shone through like out of a spot-light. It was so light that I could not picture the hole in the clouds - the contrast was too big, but i had to settle for it's reflection on the water instead.

And if you wonder where this wooden jetty on the left leads to, inshore, you can just take a look at the next picture:

...which shows the space between these two jetty'es. This is a lovely spot I visit often, because there is a lot going on there. I just love the texture of those rocks her.

Now, some old hands might remember a almost similar shot I posted about 2 monts ago. Its this one her:

Hope you enjoyed our little walk-about down the sea-front! All, except Bynx, of cours - he doesn't like seascapes........ ...but, he might just be interested enough to look at a HDR?

Hi Walter,

I think 1 & 2 are good.

#3 does not work for me. IMO, the jetty become a distraction, or is it supposed to be the subject? I don’t know if I should focus on the foreground or background.

Hey Walter, you post it and I will look. I dont mind seascapes as long as there is stuff in it like boats and docks and other things too.

Ha-ha - That's exactly why I took an other photo of the scene.

#2 is a re-take of #3 (which was only posted here for comparison). I agree toatlly with you in that there is no primary subject, just a lot of distracting mess. I think #2 works better that way.

Thank you for your comments!
