I haven't been out much lately so it's bad when I'm having to go through the folders looking for something to post. I hope this works for some of you.

i like this composition Kevin and i like the dreamy snowy look of the right side of the frame.

and i understand you going for the contrast on the left tree, and i think thats a good idea. i just think its a bit too harsh and contrasty right now. i might tone down the black a little, for me it completely dominates the scene and my eye has some trouble getting off of it. i think with a simple tweak to that, it will be great.

Thanks Hards80. What I was going for with this shot was a 4 layered look. The front layer with dark contrast tones, in your face - up close feel, the middle layer softened up midway, the 3rd showing distance finished up by the background phased out completely.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

i looked at it again, and just to see, i downloaded and placed it against a black backdrop, which really helps out alot, viewed against this grey doesn't do it justice. it actually helps in accentuating the gradient differences between the layers.

i can appreciate the up in your face contrast of the initial tree. its starting to grow on me.

That's just the way my eyes go - from one layer to another. Amazing piece of art, spy!
