Default frozen falls

Spent the weekend up at Niagara Falls. It was grey and dreary weather but the falls are still beautiful.

quite impressive in the winter-time.

i really like the black and white presentation of 1 and 3. conveys the winter-time feel and matches well with the mist coming from the water.

Wonderful set! I've been to the Falls (Cnd side) many many times but never actually in the winter. It was interesting to see the water frozen at the bottom like that. I like the shots in B&W as it adds more drama.

I could not agree more. It is amazing how bad weather allows the brave photographer to come up with some great captures....

Thanks all. I'm in agreement by the way - I much prefer the B&W. I was hopeful to get some sun on Sunday but it didn't happen. It's a completely different feeling with sun and sky and was hoping to capture that as well. Would have made for a nice comparison. Still, you gotta make do with what you're given and no matter the conditions the Falls are a wonderful subject. I hope to make it back in the summer or fall.

Spectacular show and good catch, JohnG. Amazing mushroom-shaped ice-covered rocks (I guess...).

Well done B&W!

I'm guessing the weather will have changed by then.

Thanks for your positive feedback. I'm not sure when we'll be going back but we definitely talked about it - probably to spend more time at wineries this time.

Nice picks. I must admit that I like the color version. It gives a better sense of planes and deepness.
