Default Fogo Island Longliner

This is my neighbor's old longliner that is tied up directly in front of my house on Fogo Island, off the northeast coast of Newfoundland. He just put it back in the water last week for the first time in two years. Last year, just as Ron was about to launch it, he took a bad fall down the embankment and suffered multiple fractures to his pelvis, so was out of commission for the whole summer. He has finally healed, and promises to take my daughter Jacqueline and I out on the water regularly. Hopefully we can soon get some good up-close captures of the whales and icebergs!

These images were taken with my Sony Alpha, and old Minolta 50mm f/1.7 lens. It was too dark at the time for my kit lens, but the vintage Minolta lens made it look like daytime!

Great composition and I love them! 1 and 3 are my personnal favorites. So in this case "Vintage" has the same meaning as in Wine.

OK. fess up. Were you in a boat for the side view? or a neighboring pole dock? Great composition (actually I think the side view could be closer) and sufficient pp mods to look great. Not overdone. Thanks.

Frank, actually for the side shot I was simply standing on my beach in front of my home. The wharf goes out at an angle from my shoreline, left to right. Didn't even have to get my feet wet! Glad you like the pics. This is the same view I get from my front window; I never tire of it!

And thanks to all of you who were kind enough to comment; much appreciated.
