I think you need to decide what the subject of the photo is - in these shots there is nothing specific, except the shot of the dogs backsides...

The last shot seems to be of some grass with blurry trees in the background - if you are going to have a blurry background then you really need to stop the lens down more - or if you want everything in focus then open it up - f8-11

Pete,

We are the subjects. We don't matter much. The motives are our objects. The motives don't matter much.

Light matters.

There is an object throughout this little set though - disappearing, vanishing paths. Foreground blur in the last picture is intended - there is a story in the set.

You need to use your eyes and do field studies
