Default Rainbow over Calgary

Well, I've been out in most elements except a downpour of rain so when the flash flood went ripping down my street this evening with lightning and thunder over head, I grabbed my camera bag and umbrella and went on up to the park.

I always carry with me a couple camera rain sleeves for moments such as this but the only time I used it was during a thick fog and didn't want my camera to get damaged from the humidity. With rain pouring down, I walked a ways until I was in position then the clouds broke behind me allowing the sun to shine through which produced this rainbow.

I thought my shadow holding the umbrella added a nice feature to the photo.

the ominous sky really contrasts well with the peaceful rainbow, city lights and grass. sets a very nice mood.
