Default Three New York City Landmarks...

#1) ...one old -- the Chrysler Building was completed in 1930.

#2) ...one new -- the New York Times building was completed in 2007.

#3) ...and one, an oxymoron of sorts, temporary -- the Bryant Park Ice Skating Rink will be dismantled in March 2011.

Thank you for looking. C&C welcome.

Thanks, Daniel and Wizzard0003.

If you notice, the New York Times building's facade is covered with a grill. According to The New York Times, this design is intended to make the building "environmentally sensitive". The building "is sheathed in distinctive horizontal ceramic rods that are intended to diffuse sunlight, allowing natural light to enter the building while keeping out heat and increasing the building’s energy efficiency."

One NYPD officer said it looks like a ladder.

Indeed, three individuals climbed its exterior, two making it all the way to the top of the 52-story building. You can read about the first two climbers here:

http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/20...imes-building/

and more photos (not mine) of the first climber here:

Ya, now that you mention it you're right, Walter...

It also kind of reminds me of the feel of the movie "Sky Captain and the
World of Tomorrow"...

I loved the "Flavor" of that movie...

Reminds me of Gotham City! Although not a reflection of the bright lights of the city, it is a nice effect!

Thanks all, for the compliments and comments.

I wasn't really going to shoot pictures when I took #1. I went out to get Chinese takeout (that's what's great about NYC -- all kinds of foods are within a few blocks) and saw the clouds blocking the sun. Remembering how much fun it is to process clouds in Topaz Adjust, I went back and got my camera.

As you can see from #3, the trees this late in the fall still have plenty of leaves. But that will soon change especially after yesterday's rainfall as the following two photos taken this morning show.

#4)

#5)
