Hi Les,

Thank you, Glad you like it, I was hoping the gate would would look nice as it looked great through the viewfinder.
It's nice to have some snow but the countries never prepared for it and were brought to our knees everytime theres a few inches of the white stuff.
I bet you deal with it better over there as it's around for longer you must get more prepped for it.

I love what you've done to these shots - could easily be used as Xmas cards. I would like a short version of your workflow though (but still more than one sentence)

Wondering if it's a Cornish company that makes these sturdy looking gates.
Sorry about the references to Doc Martin, but my wife and I, just finished a marathon viewing...all four seasons (DVD's) in about a week and a half. It's addictive, waiting for Season 5.

We are. The city I live in, Winnipeg, is known in Canada as 'Winterpeg'. It's also the coldest city (over 600,000 pop.) on earth..a somewhat dubious distinction.

As I get older I find myself thinking about warmer winter climes.

BTW, that picture is excellent. I've returned to it several times. Very appealing.

Hi Frogfish,
Thank you very much.
I got 2 screens up in Win7, I used freecorder to save youtube video walk through of photo shop.

pic 1.

1 increased the canvas size to allow for the reflection.
2 Made copy of top image for reflection as below
3 rectang tool, select over top to be copied, use feather to soften join. controle c to copy. controle t to free transform. hold shift key drag top of frame to bottom of canvas and you have the reflection.

Snow.

1 new blank layer, fill with 50% grey.
2 filter, noise, add noise, monocrome, ok.
3 resize 500% to make noise dots bigger.
4 Up contrast to make noise white snowy.
5 Add slight gausian blur to soften.
6 Add motion blur to look like its falling.
make sure the layer is set to screen!!!!

Bobs your uncle. thats what I did.
Theres probably an easier better way but I don't now it.
Bynxy will know, You there Santa Bynx?

Ps that was all off the top of my head, hopefully not missed anything.
Cheers Matey.

Thank you Les,
Wow, Winterpeg. I can't Imagen what it must be like, I find on a cold day here I,m concerned about taking the camera into the cold. We find those Glucosamine pills very good for the joints. Cheers Les.

Hi Les, I missed part of your last post.
The gates are all over the place here, I needed 2 recently, they were about 8 foot wide each and 5 bar tanalised wooden quality. I got them from "Mole Vally Farmers" store for an amazing 38 each! which seems a very good price.
It sounds to me like you have the Doc Martin addiction . Ill have to look out for the gate.
Thanks Les.

I wonder if theres a photoshops anonymous therapy group
Cheers Mateyy.
