The first one is simply AWSOME!!!!!I checked here and it will not happen until about 02:17 this morning. It will however be up for the longest time as it will ever be till next year, about 14 hours or so and even longer the further north you are...First time in 372 years!!Plus a minor meator shower to boot!!! Really exciting! Thanks so much for staying up!

I think the eclipse may happen at different times for different countries, so with the color captures you have now you may have cought it just in time with your first couple of photos. Don't quote me on that but I would hate to see you stay up for just some full moon shots if you have captured it in it's zeneth already, You may do a search to find out what times the event is supposed to happen in your country. I googled it and it told me that it would be about a 2 hour event here. Frank check it out here http://www.space.com/spacewatch/tota...on-101217.html

Frank,

No luck over here. On the "upside" though - more snow is going to fall. Picture number one: first I thought it was the sun but it couldn't be, and I knew it.

And two sunsets at the same time would've been a bit Tatooine-like (Star Wars). My twin suns were at 180 degrees position from each other

OK. I saw it and took some photos. My sony telephoto kit lens is pretty low quality and mainly just for snapshots and memories. So I have some now. It was chilly here (around -3 or 4 celcius as we say). 2 hours in and out of the house was fun. i won't forget. and i think i saw one meteor too!
