Thanks, Robert! i've had that lens since before my first DSLR in 2006. it cost me $400, and has been worth every penny and then some! it was designed for film bodies, so it's made for full-frame, but i am constantly amazed at how well it peforms. the 5D can be pretty demanding on lenses, and this one consistently does the job. it also covers a really useful focal range, which means it stays on my 5D about 95% of the time. it's a shame Tamron discontinued it a couple of years ago, but since it was one of their older designs, and doesn't really fit in with their emphasis on digital, i guess i can understand their reasoning. still, if anything ever happens to this one, i'm gonna be one unhappy camper!
