Nice shot. Traveled the Blue Ridge Parkway many times. What part of the parkway is this?

I have lived there only further south. Ever heard of Balsom mountain? well not everyone has, just a speck on the map on the parkway. Loved it and miss it still. Thanks for sharing this. Frank

No, I haven't heard of it. Do you know the names of any towns that are close?

Sure, There is Waynsville, and Sylva, The closest ones. Balson Gap is the name of the pass and Balsom is the name of the very tiny town next to it. Beautiful area!

Those towns are in NC (western of course), I have often wanted to walk the entire Appalachian trail, I bet it is a photographers dream!!
