Default Racecourse Lagoon

Very early morning at Racecourse Lagoon. And yes, it was once a racecourse. The running rails have all been dismantled, but the track is still there. It’s a walking track now, kept slashed by the Uralla Shire Council workmen — and the lagoon is smack bang in the middle.

What I love about early morning over water is the stillness and soft beauty.

Nice shots of the mist. The landscape is hard to place, too, for me at least. I've not been to Australia or Africa but at first look I thought it was Africa. You can't tell from the pics it was once a busy racecourse with I suppose pieces of betting paper tickets fluttering everywhere and littering the place!

Wow, these are fabulous shots Bernice. Very well composed and remind me of an Albert Namatjira painting.

vv, jj & banksy thank you. I am well pleased with how they turned out too.

vv - I don't know about betting slips etc but you can bet there'd be plenty of discarded plastic beer cups from the bar!

Banksy — "remind me of an Albert Namatjira painting" — now that is a compliment! He had a unique eye for the Bush and an exceptional talent in his representations of it. I only have a camera.

Thanks everyone for your comments.
