These are very nice Torgny. Did you happen to catch the sunspots in the zoomed in shots?

Check out todays sunspots http://spaceweather.com/images2011/0...ibggj8fn7e9rl2

Yes, great spots, Kevin,

I have been appreciating your sky pictures lately. Fascinating. There is a little story to these pictures of mine. I always carry a quality camera (preferably a low light performer) and only one lens. Turns out that I always regret not having attached another lens, always getting new ideas

So besides that camera and lens I have a superzoom as an "insurance camera" - I can always get something, occasionally something useable. So the other afternoon I got fascinated by the light and sun and the overall athmosphere in the (Suzannian) harbour

Many people with cameras were out as if they were drawn out, like in a short story of Ray Bradbury. Anyhow. A bridge camera, metering set at spot metering, made it possible. Yes they are genuine sun spots. I checked some of the other exposures. May be that the solar activity is extra strong these days?

Cropped and tidied. 600mm

Torgny

This is how close I could come with the 17-40 set at 40mm. My line of associations: Red China, the freighter is red; "... oranges, that come all the way from China" (Leonard Cohen)
