Default Steptoe Butte

took a quick trip last night up to Steptoe Butte. i'd never been there before, it's a pretty neat place. got there just before sunset, wasn't as clear as i'd have liked... a lot of haze in the air... but i did manage a few shots. when i got there, i wished i'd brought my 100-400, but coming over to Pullman for a job interview, i didn't think i'd need it! anyway, these have been processed on my laptop, which may or may not get the colors exactly right, but we'll give it a shot...

G'day Rocky

Very impressive mate - well done with recording and displaying the delightful colours & shadows from [almost?] sunset. I also like the way you have just cut out the sky-line ... thus concentrating our vision upon the actual scene itself. Well done

It seems to be showing us lots of small farms - is this correct? or is it a series of paddocks for the same farm?

Regards, Phil

thanks, guys!

Phil, these are all small farms. this area is covered with 'em. there are many very large farms farther west, but in this part of the state, there are more smaller, family-farm type places...

Brilliant. Gamut vibrant, massive colours. If it hadn't been evening exposures I'd have guessed there were a lot of small clouds creating the darker patches on the ground

In Iceland you can see something a bit like that

Very nice. They look like ripples on a pond. I never knew such a place (and expansive at that) existed. Thanks for sharing.
