The Ponte de Prado (translated to the letter is something like: Meadow Bridge), located on the River Cávado, between São Paio for Merelim (Braga, Portugal) and Vila de Prado (Meadow's village, that gives the name to the bridge), in the district of Braga, Portugal. It was built in granite in 1617 during the reign of Philip I of Portugal (II of Spain) by the architect Antonio de Castro.
The bridge is the Romanesque type, and consists of nine arches (5 ogival and 4 round) and was classified as a National Monument in 1910. Since it was built, has been repaired and strengthened several times over the years due to the damage caused by river floods ![]() ![]() And looking to the other side, River Cávado
