Default Fall Colour...of A Different Kind

We got quite a few nights like this with the Aurora Borealis lighting up the night skies. Is such a beautiful sight to see.

A question do these lights flow and flicker in real time or are they quite stationary? For what I have seen on documentaries etc the movements of the lights seem to be sped up. Excuse my ignorance but we dont see these lights down under. Nice shots.

Thanks JJ, and MVASteve.

In answer to your question Steve, they do move and change colour constantly. That being said, it is quite random. You can have a curtain of colour such as i have here, quite stationary, and have another sheet racing across the sky around this, or in a different part of the sky altogether. It is a magnificent sight, and we never tire of it.
