i hiked that trail a few years ago... great place for photos! your composition is good, with the trail and the line of the rocks on the right both lead the eye to the gap in the distance. the colors are off a bit though... there's too much cyan in the sky, and the rocks have more of a brown hue than i remember there...

Default Without PP

Thanks for your comments, we too hiked that trail, and many others at Bryce and Zion NP's. Despite the crowds, neat stuff to see.

Attached is same photo without PP, any suggestions what to do? Pic seems dark to me.

not sure what software you have to work with, but about 2 minutes with the shadows/highlights sliders and color adjustments in Photoshop really makes this look better. i can post my quick edit if you like...

i took the image into Photoshop, which has what's called a "shadows & highlights" adjustment that lets you balance the exposure a bit, so the shadows aren't too dark, while preserving the proper brightness of the rest of the photo. once i got the exposure about where it should be, i went back into the "hue and saturation" adjustment and tweaked the hue of the cyans just a bit to remove the greenish cast in the sky. it's not perfect, but like i said, this was about a 2-minute process...
