Default Grand Canyon

Wife and I have decided to make a trip in late May to the Grand Canyon and advice is badly needed on where to go, stay, etc... I badly want to visit the north rim, but I doubt that will happen as we are also planning to visit Sedona.

Fortunately, Sedona is having a photography festival.

I visited the North Rim of the GC and rather enjoyed the quiet of it (i.e. no crowds). You can stay at the lodge inside the park--looks very nice and has easy access to a number of vantage points and trails. You can also stay outside the park at Jacob Lake where there is a well known inn. It is about 45 minutes from the park.

You can always do the rim-to-rim hike....I hear it takes about 12 hours one way!

If you get out to the North Rim, do make the drive out to Point Royale to catch the sunset. Here's an image from my travels.

Thanx wingman. I think we are going to push the trip to next summer and get reservations for the north rim. Everything is booked up at this late date
