Default Punchbowl Falls

Punchbowl Falls in the Columbia Gorge in Oregon.... early morning before the massive crowds show up to splash and play.

This one came out excellent. Nice composition.
What was the shutter speed?

I get your point on the crowds. Here in So Cal were way overpopulated and during the summer anywhere with water gets packed.
This place looks surprisingly clean for a heavily used swim hole.

This is a perfect candidate for HDR to bring out those deep shadows. But its a great shot anyway. Id love the chance to shoot there.

True, it could bring out the details in the shadows, but sometimes I prefer to leave shadows as shadows.
I was thinking about bracketing and doing a HDR, but not this time. I might return when the yellows of fall show up and bracket then.
I was in the middle of a 16 mile hike and wanted to get going before the crowds showed up and made the trail a traffic jam.
I prefer trails like this not to be overrun by hikers.
