I took this tonight as i was wandering down the canal. The new houses are on the site of an old mill and the mill on the left of the picture is due for demolition soon to make way for more new houses. :-)

The picture is really beautiful but the clunky thing in the front right is distracting. I love the reflections and the curve of the walkway, really neat. Is it possible to clone out the 'thing'? What is it anyway?

Thanks, the clunky thing is a mechanism for opening a panel built into the wall of the canal. When the panel is opened by using a key water flows into the lock which fills the lockso thatbargescan enter. When the barge gets into the lock another panel isopened to empty the lock and the barge drops to a lower level, leaves the lock and continues along the canal. The locks are basically for helping barges get up and down hills. :-)

If you want to know what a lock looks like have a look at this page. :-)
