Well, let's put it this way, the waters of the Atlantic that wash ashore during a storm like that wash in at an aparent faster rate than the speed at which the clouds move in the sky. At a 1/60s, f/4, ISO 250, the water will apear a little blurry. To compound that blurryness, I focused near infinity which makes the waves closer to shore a bit less sharp than the clouds up above. If you need eye witnesses I can recall more than two dozen that were at the wedding Also another photographer and a videographer that were there with me when I tok that shot.

It may be simply contrast differences.

Why oh why would I resort to a montage when mother nature has done all the work for me? If you don't want to believe the shot, don't. I have the originals to prove it, I have video footage to prove it. And if you need further proof, why don't you get in contact with the good folks at Gurney's Inn and Resort in Montauk, and ask the staff how the weather was on Saturday the 21st. By all means, refer them to this picture and they will tell you that is what they saw that day.

Has the thought crossed your mind that I wanted to enphasize the sky, and not so much the sea? I'm sure that with all your experience you are aware that sections of a photograph can be sharpened differently through careful selection. If it will make you admit you were a fool, which you said yourself you did not mind being one, I will post a cross-section of the original file:

Vito, you would be well advised to stay on the side lines in this one.Norm did more than notice something and point it out. He charged the image as contrived and call the man "Stupid" if he thought he could get away with it. This is somwhat harsher than noticing something and pointing it out. Behaving as such is beyond what I would think acceptable in a forum thread. Norm made the position himself , let him defend it. Culpitability is an individual issue.
