Suzan, this is a very good composition. I like this shot very much.

I think you could make it even more striking by increasing the saturation (greens especially) a bit and applying a bit more USM (both to increase contrast and sharpen the non-water features - the rocks - a little more).

BTW, the little plants with small pink flowers in the LRC look like Virginia Knotweed. Do you know if that was what they were?

Lastly, what was your exposure time for this shot and were you using a tripod?

How's this?

ISO 64

f. 5

Ex. 0.1s

no tripod as I was riding. Used a large rock to line up a picture I wanted et voila.

You did a very good job handholding the camera for a 1/10 second exposure, Suzan!

I wish. No hand held, it was on a rock. A new kind of tripod weighing a mere 500 pounds. Lacking only in portability.

ok suzan, nicely composed...it seems the falls are overexposed...

was this morning? afternoon? evening? it doesn't seem to the sunny out, no splotches of brighter light...so i'm guessing it was cloudy...

i've had more success with shots like these on partly sunny days...and, if you want to get picky, big thick clouds scattered throughout the sky...to block the sun every couple of minutes...

well...the best deal for this...would be a ND filter...lol

nice use of surroundings to use as a tripod though
