wow...i can't believe i forgot about this one....

sunrise..in the smokies...on the way up to clingmans dome, we made it to the parkinglot, with about a 5-10 minute window, that i'm positive the Lord held the clouds off for us (my grandfather and I), and got these shots, stitched together...and a couple single shots...

this shot looks a lot better than i remember...i guess i kept comparing the picture to the real thing...and was disappointed that they picture wasn't close...lol

well...here you go..

it's a pano...so scrolling is necessary..

Vito

oh yeah...you can see the clouds on the far right...starting to reach into the picture :-D just about to block off this beautiful view...to see just 10 feet infront of you in thick fog...

Very nice picture, I like how high you were able to get, and give the downward view.

thanks

this was shot at Clingmans Dome (well...the parking lot lol...that's as far as we got before the cloud passed through and we couldn't see anything) in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. it's pretty much dead center of the park...but it's near Newfound Gap, and about 30 miles or so from Cherokee, NC

Very nice. You did an excellent job of stitching them together. What time of the morn was it? I'd probably would have easily missed this one .... I'm not an early riser :-)

it was something like 6:00....but i was up like 4:30 cuz we had to drive the 30 miles into the park...and find a spot..and we actually stopped at mcdonalds..

it was crazy, and i'd never get up that early, unless i was going for a picture..

lol

i'm glad you like it

Nice shot, I was there about a month ago. My wife and I are going back to the Smokies in late October (meeting some of her family there)

BTW, getting up at 4:30 would be a "luxury" for me -- I get up at 4:15 M-F.

ok, i downloaded a free trial of arcsoft panorama maker, and restitched this one...

the first one has blemishes on the merge points...but the second doesn't (that i could see..and i looked hard)

enjoy
