Yes, Mr. Denver had it right. Even more impressive is that only 2/3 of the state is mountainous....yet there are more peaks over 14,000 feet (54) than all of the other states combined (including Alaska). There area few hundred13,000 foot peaks, and thousands of 11,000 and 12,000 footers. In the southwest part of the state,in the San Juan Mountains, the terrain AVERAGES 10,000 feet.

There is no place quite like it. I feel fortunate to live here.

where in colorado do you live?

i went to Durango colorado, and, wow, wat a beautiful town...

another beautiful town, was Ouray.....they even had a waterfall pouring into town!

Digicamfan used the words I was going to use, Stunning photo....I see nothing to critique here, magnificent and it makes me want to return to Colorado one day soon also.....

Vito, I live in Windsor...which is on the eastern plains between Ft. Collins and Greeley.

You lived in one of my favorite areas. So you can certainly vouch for the astonishing San Juan Mountains. Ouray, Telluride, Silverton....it doesn't get much better scenery wise.
